Indu Lagna Calculator
The classical wealth-potential point — Kalas of your 9th lords, counted from your Moon.
Indu Lagna needs an exact birth time — there's no noon-placeholder mode for this one.
How this works
Indu Lagna, also called Dhana Lagna, is a special point in Vedic astrology used specifically to gauge financial prosperity and wealth-building potential — distinct from the general-life picture given by the main Lagna, and often used alongside the 2nd and 11th houses (the chart's traditional wealth houses) for a fuller money-focused read.
The calculation uses a system of "Kalas" (rays), classical numeric weights assigned to each of the seven traditional planets: Sun 30, Moon 16, Mars 6, Mercury 8, Jupiter 10, Venus 12, Saturn 1. The method finds the planet ruling the 9th house from your Lagna and the planet ruling the 9th house from your Moon, adds their two Kala values together, reduces that sum to a number 1-12 (treating a remainder of 0 as 12), and counts that many signs starting from your Moon's own sign to land on the Indu Lagna sign.
The 9th house is the house of fortune and grace in Vedic astrology, so combining the 9th-lord influence from both your Lagna and your Moon — your outer identity and your inner emotional nature — is meant to capture prosperity potential from both dimensions of the chart at once, rather than from wealth houses alone.
Like the other special lagnas, Indu Lagna is a depth-layer calculation, meant to be read against your full chart rather than in isolation. It pairs naturally with TaraQi's BaZi wealth-element analysis (favorable elements from your Day Master strength) for a two-tradition view of financial timing — see your free full chart for both.
